2016 BIRD ON A WIRE CHARDONNAY

Light to mid-yellow colour, with a complex, well-worked but nicely harmonised bouquet suggesting smoky sulfides, oatmeal, nougat and grapefruit, the latter most striking in the mouth. There’s lemon joining the citrus chorus and the wine is fresh and crisp, taut and long, with excellent line. It has a future, too.
